Tour 18 :: Alexandria/El Alamein
DAY 1. Cairo/Alexandria
Morning departure by private car/bus, via the desert road to Alexandria. 2 hours 30 minutes later arrival in the center of town. Visit the Greco-Roman Museum, Pompeii's Pillar, Kom El Shugafa catacombs, dating from the first and second centuries. After lunch, visit the 19th century Ras El Tin Palace, 15th century Quait Bay Fort. Transfer to Cecil hotel. Overnight.
DAY 2. Alexandria/El Alamein/Cairo
Today departure through the coastal road, westward to El Alamein, battleground of the Second World War. The Axis forces fought the Allied forces for the control of the Middle East and its oil. Visit the cemeteries of all the forces engaged in the battle and the newly built Museum. Lunch. Afternoon at leisure, take a dip in the most beautiful Egyptian beaches. Evening return to your hotel in Cairo.

Tour 19 :: Abu Simbel extension from Aswan
South of Aswan lies the Great Temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel. Two grandiose figures seated on the throne facing the rising sun is 65 feet high, each of the Pharaoh himself. His Queen Nefertari and his daughters are represented by smaller statues at his feet. Nearby in another rocky cliff is the temple of Hathor. Before this temple are six large statues, about 32 feet high, two of the figures are Nefertari as goddess Hathor. In this valley you will have admired the unique work of the builders of 3,500 years ago.
